Featured Brand of the Month: Nunn Design - Week Two

One of the things that I love most about Nunn Design is that their pieces are so unique that the work you create with them will instantly become a piece of wearable art. Becky Nunn has done a wonderful job of making metal components that inspire me and drive my designs forward. Their elements provide me that spark of creativity, while still allowing the versatility for my ideas to flourish.

This week we will be sharing our favorite pendants from Nunn Design. The gold, copper and silver pendants match perfectly with the rest of their line to make it easy to get a cohesive look. The Nunn Design pendants are the perfect example of what I mean when I say that their products are versatile. Some of their pendants are actually pendant tags, which means they are designed to fit snugly into their bezel pendants. These pendant tags are flat and do not come with a drilled hole. If you do not want to put a pendant tag into a bezel pendant, you can use a simple metal punch tool and add a hole anywhere you like. They can be used for many mixed media projects too - just add some Crystal Clay or resin and you have a whole new look. And just in case you want a more traditional pendant, they have those for you as well. Check out their entire pendant selection under the Nunn Design brand page on our website.

Project Highlight: Keepsake Glass Vial Necklace with Flower
by Julie Bean

Another kind of unique pendant from Nunn Designs is the Keepsake Pendant. The Keepsake Pendant is a screw top glass vial that can be used to hold a number of things. For example, you can use it to hold a special note, a bit of sand from your latest vacation, or even a 3-D beaded element as shown in Julie's design. The possibilities are endless, and as an added bonus, this makes a beautiful gift or very special gift tag embellishment.

I have always been a big fan of Nunn Design for their old world style and elegance. When Becky Nunn came out with the ornate flat tag pendants several launches ago I was immediately captivated and inspired by their interesting shapes and designs. My favorite has to be the Crest Pendant and I can't wait to try out Becky's faux french enameling technique on it!

I have long had a soft spot for lockets.  I especially love the Nunn Design Scalloped Locket Pendant.  This piece has a classic bezel pendant, which provides endless design possibilities - but it also has a hinged glass lid, which gives your work a pretty, finished look.  It also provides protection for your piece, giving you even more freedom to choose what to include in your locket.

My personal favorite is this antique gold plated shield tag pendant. When I look at this tag, my first instinct is to utilize many of the mixed media techniques that include transfer sheets and resin. I love the idea of having the floral impression be the front side and adding a secret word or picture to the blank side. My own personal open locket.

One of my favorite pendants from Nunn Design is the antiqued silver plated flat tag ornate regiment pendant from the Elements of Inspiration Collection. I just love the slightly raised edge because it allows me to add my own embellishments inside, like Crystal Clay with chatons or even flatbacks.
