Beading Gossip: Beadalon Design Contest

Our friends over at Beadalon shared some exciting news with us and we wanted to pass it along to all of our readers - The Beadalon Design Contest is now open for entries!

Beadalon has announced their first annual Beadalon Design Contest with Beadalon Bead Stringing Wire as the main attraction! Enter your original jewelry design featuring Beadalon Bead Stringing Wire for the chance to win some awesome prizes.

Beading Gossip: Vintaj Morning Mist Giveaway!

The Vintaj "Morning Mist" Design Challenge

Have you checked out the Vintaj "Morning Mist" Design Challenge?  They want to see designers' interpretations of "Morning Mist", and they have just extended the deadline to March 6th, so you still have time to enter!

The team at Vintaj has made some really lovely inspiration pieces for this challenge to get you started, like these "Dew Drops" earrings, using beads from Beadaholique along with all of their Vintaj goodies.  They are also offering some handy tutorials, like how to make the wire wrapped drops featured in these earrings.

I am sure that it comes as no surprise to anyone that I am a huge fan of Vintaj! I love their products and am always excited to see what innovative techniques they use to alter and enhance them. It's truly amazing how many different things you can do with just a single Vintaj element - rivet, patina, dap, emboss, distress, etc.... Some of my absolute favorite designs use lots and lots of Vintaj pieces.

Beading Gossip! Soft Flex Company's 2011 "Flex Your Creativity" Beading Contest

Psssttt.... we have some gossip to share! 

Soft Flex is in the midst of their 3rd annual Flex Your Creativity Beading Contest. They have already narrowed it down to 10 finalists, all of whom have amazing and inspiring designs. From now until December 1st they are asking the public to go vote for their favorite design. The first, second, and third place winners will be announced on December 5th.
